A trailer was destroyed by fire in the Middle Valley area Wednesday morning.
A neighbor made a 9-1-1 call at 6:45 a.m. reporting heavy smoke and fire at 7704 Hale Drive (off of Thrasher Pike). Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) responded and arrived on the scene confirming a fully involved trailer fire.
Since everyone was confirmed out of the trailer, Dallas Bay VFD immediately went to a “defensive attack” to keep the fire from spreading to the surrounding homes.
According to the neighbor, she saw a glow coming from her window and went outside to see the home next door was on fire. She said, “The fire was coming through the roof when I called 911.”
No injuries were reported. Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for potential injuries.
The trailer is a total loss and damages estimated at $10,000. The cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. According to the neighbor, no one had been living there in two weeks.
Dallas Bay VFD was assisted by Hamilton County EMS and Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
