A man armed with a butcher knife robbed a Hixson pharmacy of narcotics on Wednesday night, authorities said.
The sheriff's office said at approximately 6:25 p.m, officers responded to an armed robbery at the Thrifty Med Plus Pharmacy at 8600 Hixson Pike.
It was reported that a white male wearing a paintball-type mask came into the pharmacy armed with a butcher knife and demanded that the pharmacist give him narcotics.
After getting an undetermined amount of narcotics, the subject fled on foot towards the Sequoyah Hills Subdivision.
The description of the suspect is a white male 5’7”, 170 pounds, brown hair and wearing blue jeans and a black jacket.
The sheriff's office said the case has some similarities as one that Chattanooga Police Department worked on Jan. 2.
In the city case, a white male entered the Belvoir Pharmacy at 4501 Brainerd Road.
This suspect also had a knife and demanded narcotics. The suspect in this case was also wearing a mask of some sort similar to the one in the county case.
He was also wearing a black jacket and was 5’5”-5’6” tall with a stocky build, it was stated.
