Frank A. Lowe Jr., 80, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday morning, Jan. 16, 2007.

Mr. Lowe was a native of Chattanooga, a son of the late Frank Lowe Sr. and Virginia Bowers Lowe. He also was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mrs. Lassie Raines.

He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Engineering and was employed with TVA, Combustion Engineering Company and later retired from TVA. He was a veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church and a member of the Cherokee and Chattanooga Choo Choo Camping Clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Virginia Parks Lowe; son and his wife, Gene (Becky) Lowe, of Trenton, Ga.; grandchildren, Tiffany Lowe, of Chattanooga, Ginger (Joey) Mathis, of Cartersville, and Martha Garner, of Trenton; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Garner and Brady Mathis; aunt, Mrs. Irene Slaughter, of Chattanooga; and a brother, the Rev. James (JoAnn) Lowe, of Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and again Friday from 10:30 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

The family wishes to express a special "Thanks" to the staff of NHC Parkwood and especially to Amanda and Vonda.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Lowe to Hospice of Chattanooga at P.O. Box 19269, Chattanooga, TN. 37416.
