Brush Collection And Recycling In Area 2 Oct. 8-12

Brush Collection in Area 2 is during the second full week of each month. Brush and leaves will be collected in Area 2 the week of Oc. 8-12. Please place your brush at the curb for collection during the seven days prior to your collection week.

Curbside recyclables will be collected in Area 2 on Wednesday, Oct. 10.

Area 2 is east of I-75, west of Highway 153 and east of Crest Road, Campbell Street and Bonny Oaks Drive. This area includes Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, Old Lee Highway, North Twinbrook, Ashwood, Drake Forest, Brandermill, Hamilton Mill, Audubon Hills, Hurricane Creek, Irvin Acres, Rosemere, Royal Oaks, Ashley Mills, Council Fire, Liles Addition, Kenmoor, Radmoor, Bella Vista, Concord Heights, Marimont, Brainerd Hills, Airport Road, Shepherd, Pine Grove, South and North Brainerd, Glendon Place, North and South Crest Road, Brainerd Park, Woodmore, Eastdale, Pin Oak, Foxwood Heights, Indian Hills, Rollingwood, Ridgewood Acres, North Tower, Green Forest, Cherokee Woods, and Gaylan Heights.

Brush Collection Information
•Place brush in small piles
•Put brush on the curb during the seven days prior to collection week
•Do not place brush near utility poles or mailboxes
•Do not mix brush with other materials
•Place bagged leaves in separate piles at street side

Curbside Recycling Collection Information
Recyclables must be placed at curbside by 7 a.m. of your collection day in blue or clear bags or in a covered bin clearly marked “recycle” in order to be collected. The following recyclable items may be placed on the curb for collection on your Recycle Wednesday:
•cardboard
•newspaper
•all paper grades (except shredded)
•plastic #1 and #2 bottles with a neck (look for the triangular recycle symbol on the bottle to determine the plastic number)
•aluminum cans
•rinsed out steel cans

Items do not need to be separated, cans do not need to be crushed, pull-tabs do not need to be removed from cans and lids do not need to be removed from plastic bottles and jugs.

Chattanooga has four recycling convenience centers strategically located throughout the City to help maximize our recycling capabilities. Materials that cannot be collected through curbside can be dropped off at any of these convenient locations in order to be recycled.

•John A. Patten Recreation Center: 3202 Kelly's Ferry Road
•Access Road at DuPont Parkway: 4500 North Access Road
•East Brainerd Baseball Complex: end of Batter’s Place Road

Convenience Center Hours
Monday - Friday - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

What to Recycle at Convenience Centers
•Everything that may be collected through curbside pickup
•Shredded paper
•Glass bottles (brown, green and clear)
•Computers and small electronics (no televisions or microwaves)

Lookout Valley, Tn. recorded the first tornado on what would become a historic 2-day tornado outbreak, at 7:55am on April 27, 2011. Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

An Chattanooga man told police Monday night that he had just murdered his wife.  Police said Robert Hardnett showed up at the County Jail to turn himself in. Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
