Two North Shore Grand Opening Is Nov. 10

The free Grand Opening celebration of the Two North Shore shopping center will be Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. at 301 Manufacturers Road.

Attendees can visit the "Greenlife Stage" and listen to Chattanooga bands perform live including Jennifer Daniels, Up with the Joneses and a special performance by the professional belly dancing troop Desert Sirens.

For families there will be an interactive area equipped with jugglers, face painters, balloon artists, a hot chocolate bar and local mascots such as Rocky the Raccoon and the Aquarium's Shark and Penguin duo.

Rock Creek will host geocaching, a high-tech scavenger hunt using GPS units, as well as other interactive competitions.

In addition to all the activities, guests can sample a variety of the areas organic food and beverage selections provided by Greenlife while getting a henna tattoo and shopping Two North Shore's selection of locally owned retail shops: Bill Shores Frames and Gallery, a specialized art gallery and frame shop; Larimar MedSpa, a provider of cosmetic and spa related medical services and accessories; New Moon Gallery, a retail gift shop selling items such as cards, books, candles and artwork; WiggleWorm, a children's clothing, gifts, bedding and furniture store; and lastly, Willa Collection, an upscale women's clothing and accessory boutique.

Proceeds will benefit the Community Kitchen and the McKamey Animal Center.

Senator Alexander Speaks At Better Business Bureau Luncheon Tuesday

Senator Lamar Alexander will be the keynote speaker at the Better Business Bureau Luncheon Tuesday at noon at the Chattanoogan Hotel.   Senator Alexander will present local businesses with the BBB’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics and will present area seniors with the BBB Student of Integrity Scholarship Awards. Woman Killed In Early-Morning Wreck On Thrasher Pike

A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Thrasher Pike early Saturday morning. Soddy Daisy Police Chief Phillip Hamrick said a female passenger was ejected from the vehicle. She was transported to Erlanger Hospital by LifeForce helicopter about 3:15 a.m. The driver was transported by Hamilton County EMS. It is believed he had non-life threatening injuries. ... City May Move Forward On $47 Million Wilcox Tunnel Project

City officials may move forward on a $47 million project to upgrade the narrow Wilcox Tunnel through Missionary Ridge. The City Council on Tuesday is to consider a resolution to apply for a $25 million federal TIGER grant. The city would still have to come up with $21,825,000 through "local funds or grants."
