William L. “Ozzie” Cloud, 86, of Ooltewah, Tn., died on Wednesday, October 3, 2007.

He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 42 years of service and was a member of the Silverdale Baptist Church. He was a veteran of W.W. II and a member of the Masonic Lodge Master #244.

He was the son of the late W.L. and Emma Boyd Cloud of Knoxville, and was preceded in death by his brothers, Boyd Cloud and Paul Cloud of Knoxville, and infant granddaughter, Megan Nicole Kerr.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Betty Louise Cloud; two sons, Ron Cloud (Linda), Apison, and Steve Cloud (Janice), Franklin, Tn.; daughter, Debbie Kerr (Gary), Ooltewah; six grandchildren, Stephanie Presnell (Todd), Brentwood, Tn., Kristy Richardson (Tim), Chattanooga, Lori Reid (Bobby), Chattanooga, Matt Cloud (Kelly), Ringgold, Josh Kerr (Jill), Louisville, Ky., and Drew Kerr of Ooltewah; eight great-grandchildren, Will and Elise Presnell, Haley and Whitney Richardson, Blakely Reid, Carson and Camden Cloud and Avery Kerr; honorary grandchildren, John Farrah and Linda Snell of Chattanooga; two sisters, Peggy Sharpe and Kathleen Hinton and one brother, Ralph Cloud, all of Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Moore of Peachtree City, GA and the Rev. Herschel Woodburn officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Interment will be in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 735 Broad Street, Chattanooga, Tn. 37402 or to Adventa Hospice of Chattanooga, 5959 Shallowford Rd., Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
