Abuelo’s General Manager Ramesh Jolam presents a check for $7,500 to Jane Kaylor, executive director, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga and Abuelo’s wait staff cheer in support.

Abuelo’s grand opening in Chattanooga raised over $7,500 to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, which provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children and supports programs that improve the health, education, and well-being of children.

The funds were raised through proceeds from sales during the restaurant’s pre-opening training services, as well as through donations from employees and guests. Abuelo’s is located at Hamilton Place Mall at 2101 Hamilton Place Blvd.

“We raised a substantial amount of money for a very deserving charity and had a lot of fun in the process,” said Ramesh Jolam, general manager of Abuelo’s. “The local community came out in full-force and showed outstanding support for Ronald McDonald House Charities. We are so pleased to be able to benefit such a wonderful organization that does such great work for critically ill children and their families.”

“We would like to thank Abuelo’s management and staff for choosing us as their charity and for their collective efforts in raising funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities, said Jane Kaylor, executive director, Chattanooga Ronald McDonald House Charities. “Community support and donations are what make Ronald McDonald House Charities great. Abuelo’s generous donation will cover the cost for 26 families to spend five days at the Ronald McDonald House during the health crisis of their child.”

Meo Mio’s Cajun & Seafood Restaurant Is A Hit

We’ve found a new place that we really like!  Meo Mio’s Cajun & Seafood Restaurant at 4119 Cummings Highway (the old Patrick’s location).   We were greeted at the door as if we were arriving for a party.  The friendly hostess was distributing Mardi Gras beads to all the “party guests” (customers).  Décor is very cheerful and eye catching.  On one ... We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ... Roy Exum: The Sadness Of The Recall

Judge Jeff Hollingsworth, his eagle eyes zeroed on the U.S. Constitution and the laws that have been put into place since it was adopted in 1787, ended the recall of Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield Friday afternoon, but the pall of sadness that the effort cast over the city will last for a lot longer. If “time is money,” the whole deal cost us millions of dollars and even more ... (click for more)
