County Commissioner Curtis Adams is recuperating at home after suffering a mild heart attack last Thursday.
Commission Chairman Bill Hullander said Commissioner Adams will not be at this week's commission meeting but should be able to attend the next session.
Commissioner Hullander said, "He is recuperating at home. I have visited him there, and he acts just like the same Curtis Adams."
He said Commissioner Adams, who is 74, last Thursday attended a meeting at East Ridge High School instead of a County Commission session. He drove himself to Parkridge Hospital from East Ridge High after suffering arm and chest pains.
He spent two days in the hospital, and is being treated with medication.
Commissioner Hullander said, "The doctors told him to take it easy for a while and he will have to change some of his lifestyle, including his eating."
He said, "His district is not suffering. I have been carrying out some of his duties."
He said Commissioner Adams is not receiving calls or visitors, but cards may be sent to his home on John Ross Road in East Ridge.
