Red Bank Quadraplex Damaged In Morning Fire

Red Bank Fire Department responded to a 911 call reporting a five-unit apartment complex on fire at 4223 Tacoma Ave. Tuesday morning.

At 12:50 a.m., a man awoke to smoke throughout his apartment. He discovered fire coming from his bedroom. He immediately evacuated his apartment and alerted the neighbors.

The Red Bank Fire Department arrived on the scene within minutes, reporting fire coming from the north side of the quadraplex. When fire personnel were clear that all residents were accounted for, they immediately conducted an interior attack and quickly gain control of the fire from spreading to the adjacent units.

According to the resident, he was asleep on the couch, then smelled smoke and found his bedroom was on fire.

No injuries were reported. Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries.

The Red Bank Fire Department requested mutual aid for the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department and Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services to cover Red Bank Fire Department’s district for any potential 9-1-1 calls.

Several apartments were damaged and estimated a total loss of $75,000. One unit was a total loss, one unit had water damage, and three had smoke damage.

The cause of the fire will be under investigation by the Red Bank Fire Department. The Red Bank Fire Department was assisted by Walden’s Ridge Emergency Services, the Soddy-Daisy Fire Department, Hamilton County EMS and the Red Bank Police Department.
