Pigeon Forge Travel Planner Adds Discount Card, Boosts Size

Tuesday, March 06, 2007 - by Tom Adkinson

Pigeon Forge's 2007 travel planner sports a larger size, photos of residents who helped win an Emmy Award and a built-in discount card good for a variety of travel savings.

The city has printed 800,000 copies to help visitors plan trips to this gateway community to America's most popular national park, Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

"While we're pleased with the bigger format that helps us show off the city and its attractions better than in the past, the Pigeon Forge Value Card is what people probably will notice first because they can use it to find some travel savings," said Kay Powell, assistant director of tourism.

The Pigeon Forge Value Card offers discounts on attractions; seven music and comedy shows; lodging, including hotels, cabins and the city's newest property, the Inn at Christmas Place; restaurants; and shopping.

The cover and the pages starting each section of the 6x9-inch, 128-page
publication feature photos of Pigeon Forge residents who participated in a "Welcome to My Pigeon Forge" promotional campaign. The television advertising portion of that campaign won a regional Emmy Award from the Nashville/Midsouth Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The travel planner includes vacation itineraries for all four seasons, a fold-out map that includes Great Smoky Mountains National Park and a list of special events such as the four-month-long Pigeon Forge Winterfest and its numerous components.

Complimentary copies of the 2007 Pigeon Forge Travel Planner are available by calling 1-800-251-9100 or by ordering online at www.MyPigeonForge.com. They also are available at all Tennessee Welcome Centers, the Pigeon Forge Welcome Center and the Pigeon Forge Information Center.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
