Ringgold Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, A Sweet And Syrupy Tradition

Tuesday, May 15, 2007

Kiwanis Club of Ringgold will hold its annual special fundraiser to support its many charitable projects in the community. The Pancake Breakfast is Saturday, May 26, from 7-11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ringgold.

“The Kiwanis Club of Ringgold has a tradition of being involved in good causes that particularly impact the youth of our community,” said Phil Erli, Kiwanis president.

Mona Allday, event co-chair, said the club is ecstatic about bringing this traditional Kiwanis event back to 1890s Days. Although she said attendees do not have to be coming to 1890s Days to come and enjoy the breakfast.

"We appreciate the community support in the past for this event,” she said. “Its one of the ways we raise the money we share with are many projects for area youth. We invite everyone to come by and enjoy breakfast before 1890s Days."

Kiwanis Chef Jack Deaton said the meals are available to go if visitors are in a hurry, but if they will take the time to dine in the fellowship hall at the church, they can eat all the pancakes and sausage they can hold. Coffee and juice are included with the meal. Bottled water, soft drinks and milk is available at additional charge.

Mr. Deaton said a new addition for those on the go this year will be Sausage and a Biscuit for $1.

Tickets are $5 at the door or $4 in advance. Tickets are available from any Ringgold Kiwanis members and at Ameriprise Financial across from Babb Lumber in Ringgold, Capital Bank (Ringgold branch only), The Catoosa County News, The Print Shop in Fort Oglethorpe, The Colonnade, and Northwest Georgia Bank (Ringgold branch only) and Travel by Herschel (423) 227-0838. Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
