The Capital Connection, an initiative of the Chattanooga Technology Council to create and promote a forum in which local and regional early-stage companies can access local and regional capital sources, held its second event last week.
The gathering featured five early-stage businesses in the fields of airline cargo management software, product development for obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine, driver feedback signs, tire recycling and a youth online community. Investors from Chattanooga, Atlanta and other Southeastern cities attended.
The dinner program was hosted by Miller & Martin, PLLC, a platinum sponsor of the CTC. The event was organized by committee chair Matt Jannerbo of Miller & Martin, along with committee members Jim Frierson of ATTI, Jonathan Bragdon of Tricycle, John Riddell of the Hamilton County CEG, T. J. Gentle of Smart Furniture, Paul Weidlich of Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel and Sheila Brooks of TVA.
According to CTC President Paul Weidlich, an intellectual property attorney with Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel, PC, the success of the Capital Connection gathering of angel investors and innovators has necessitated the planning for a regular series of such programs and will issue a call for additional proposals to be considered for a forum in the fall.
