Woman Charged With Doing Meth In Cherokee Forest

Monday, June 18, 2007

A woman is facing federal charges after authorities said she was caught using meth in the Cherokee National Forest.

Shannon Dee Holder appeared Monday before Magistrate Bill Carter.

Kenneth J. Seymore II of the U.S. Forest Service said he was on patrol on a Forest Service road on June 9 when he saw a vehicle on an old logging road.

He said a couple was inside. He said Ms. Holder's hand was shaking.

He said he was told there were no drugs in the car, but he said he found where a straw had been cut and there was a small crystal-like substance in a small baggie. He said Ms. Holder admitted it was meth.

She said she had done meth several days earlier and she came to the woods to do meth with Roy Godfrey.

Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt. Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
