An autopsy conducted at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville on Saturday confirmed the body recovered from Price Cemetery in Bradley County on Friday is that of missing woman Pamela Jo Lane.
Authorities said she died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
Scotty Myers will be charged with her murder, officials said.
Myers, 35, was arrested on Friday in Bay County, Fla. (Panama City).
He was initially charged with being a fugitive from justice, destruction of evidence and abuse of a corpse.
He was being extradited back to Tennessee.
The body was found in a shallow grave at the cemetery on Pleasant Grove Road. It was in a large plastic garbage bag buried about three feet deep.
Authorities also searched the home of the 29-year-old Ms. Lane on Pebblebrook Drive.
Officials said they were acting "on new information obtained from a person of interest in the case of missing person Pamela Jo Lane."
Ms. Lane had not been seen since May 4.
