Stancil, Phillip (Cleveland)

Phillip Stancil, 56, of Cleveland, Tn., died on Thursday, July 5, 2007.

He attended Sequoyah Baptist Church and was employed as an electronic technician with Bell South. Phillip was a graduate of Central High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florene Wood Stancil.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stancil; two daughters, Laramie Werner and her husband, Brian of Unadilla, Ne., and Meghan Stancil of Chattanooga; stepchildren, Leatha Plank and her husband, Donnie of Cleveland, and Joshua Chandler of Chattanooga; one grandson, Anden Werner; four step-grandchildren, Aaron Plank, Sarah Plank, Jonah Plank and Hannah Plank; father, James Harding Stancil of Chattanooga; one sister, Ann Langston of Chattanooga; three brothers, Jimmy Stancil of Clearwater Beach, Fl., David Stancil and Danny Stancil, both of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 404 South Moore Road. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday and from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday at the East Chapel.

Black, Lewis Eugene (Tunnel Hill)

Lewis Eugene Black, 75, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, died on Friday, February 10, 2012 at his residence.  A lifelong resident of the Catoosa County area, he was an employee of Hank’s Carpet in Tunnel Hill where he worked for 10 years in sales. Judy “Nana” Olinger, 69, of Pikeville, Tn., died at an area hospital on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. She was a Dietary Cook for the Bledsoe County Nursing Home. Judy was of the Church of God faith. She was born on February 23, 1941 to the late Albert and Bessie Troglin; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Olinger; a son, Daryl Olinger; and numerous brothers ... Charles Edwin Austin, Sr.

Charles Edwin Austin, Sr. died on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at home after a long illness.  He was born June 27, 1934 on Sand Mountain to the late Ned and Novella Austin. He served his country in the United States Army, was an avid horticulturalist, gardener, and enjoyed being involved in theater.      He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Mary Alexander.  ... Judge Hollingsworth Rules Littlefield Recall Effort Invalid, Cancels August Mayoral Election
