Bank Robbed On Brainerd Road

Chattanooga Police and the FBI responded to a bank robbery on Brainerd Road on Tuesday morning.

The 10:30 a.m. holdup was at the Regions Bank at 5517 Brainerd Road.

According to employees of the bank, a white male entered the bank, walked to the teller and demanded money. The suspect did not produce a weapon. However, he made threats that he had one.

The suspect is a white male 40 to 55 years of age, 5'8" to 5'10" in height, with salt and pepper hair balding on top.

He drove away in a black newer-model Ford Explorer or Expedition.

Bank officials said surveillance photos were made of the robbery and the getaway vehicle.

If anyone has information on the robbery, they are asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 698-2525 or the FBI at 265-3601.

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
