Collier Construction Hosts Green Drinks Chattanooga Wednesday

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

Last month Collier Construction mulched two houses on Harper Street in North Chattanooga. This month they will be tapping a keg and toasting Green on the footprint before building sustainable single family homes that will be there for generations.

Green Drinks Chattanooga will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. at 406 Harper St.

Collier Construction’s new sustainable site in North Chattanooga includes the separation of two houses into their component parts for reuse or recycling into new construction. By grinding wood, drywall, roofing shingles, block and brick, they reduced the waste that went to landfill and created fill spots and walking paths.

Guests will be able to see the energy efficient, central courtyard homes.
