The 12th-ranked Chattanooga Mocs struggled a bit in shooting a second round 296 (+16) at the Brickyard Collegiate Championship at the Brickyard at Riverside at Macon, Ga. The Mocs have a two-day total of 590 (+3), 13 shots behind a three-way tie at the top.
Seniors Ben Rickett and Jonathan Hodge each shot two-over par 72s to lead the Mocs. Rickett is tied for 14th at 145 (+5), while Hodge stands tied for 22nd with a 36-hole total of 146 (+6).
Freshman Stephan Jaeger is just one more shot back tied for 26th at 147 (+7) following today’s 75.
Redshirt freshman Hudson Keener shot an eight-over par 78 to go to 153 (+13) which places him tied for 58th. Junior Tripp Harris is tied for 65th at 154 (+14) after a second 77.
Georgia, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech lead at 577 (+17). The Bulldogs are the defending champions. Georgia Tech was the first round leader. Clemson is in fourth place just two shots back at 579.
Penn State’s Nick Archambault carded a second even-par round of 70 to hold the individual lead at 140. Drew Weaver (Virginia Tech) and David May (Clemson) are one shot back at 141.
Round three begins at 8:30 a.m. for the Mocs with Tripp Harris leading off. Chattanooga is paired with Duke and Florida State. Live scoring can be followed at Golfstat.com.
