21st Annual National Philanthropy Day Set For Nov. 5th

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Southeastern Tennessee Chapter will be hosting its 21st Annual National Philanthropy Day on Wednesday, Nov. 5th at the Chattanooga Convention Center. National Philanthropy Day is a special day set aside to recognize the great contributions of individuals and organizations in our community and across the world to countless causes and missions.

The 2008 honorees are Fletcher Bright for Outstanding Philanthropist; Henderson, Hutcherson, & McCullough, PLLC for Corporate Philanthropist; and Sam Smartt Leadership Fundraiser.

Each honoree will be awarded a sculpture by the renowned artist, Cessna Decosimo, entitled Caritas or "Charity" which refers to selfless love. Maestro Bob Bernhardt will be the Master of Ceremonies.

Organizations are welcomed to honor someone at their table for his or her philanthropic achievements as well.

$750,000 Settlement Reached In Case In Which Bicyclist Was Hit By Tahoe

A $750,000 settlement has been reached in Hamilton County Circuit Court in a case in which a bicyclist was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe and seriously injured. Sean Sanderson and his wife, Dr. Stephanie Sanderson, of Cleveland, Tn.,had filed suit against Benjamin Wilson and Oscar Wilson.
