More than 22,000 men and women – including 697 nursing home residents and 1,897 absentee voters – already have cast ballots in the upcoming presidential race, according to information provided Monday evening by the Hamilton County Election Commission.
Officials said 4,395 people voted Monday. Of those, 1,232 cast ballots at Brainerd Recreation Center, 1,496 at election commission headquarters on Amnicola Highway, and 1,470 at Northgate Mall. In addition, 197 absentee ballots were received.
During the five days that early voting has been allowed, a total 19,847 people have gone to one of the three available sites to cast ballots, according to election commission data.
At election commission headquarters on Amnicola Highway, 1,747 people voted on Wednesday, 1,421 on Thursday, 1,401 on Friday, 983 on Saturday and 1,496 on Monday.
At Brainerd Recreation Center, 1,131 voted on Wednesday, 1,192 on Thursday, 1,205 on Friday, 1,007 on Saturday and 1,232 on Monday.
At Northgate Mall, 1,417 voted on Wednesday, 1,451 on Thursday, 1,427 on Friday, 1,267 on Saturday and 1,470 on Monday.
Early voting will continue through Oct. 30. The presidential election will take place Nov. 4.
