Cornerstone Community Bank Raises 1,100 Pounds Of Food

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Cornerstone Community Bank raised more than 1,100 pounds of food during its recent “Can-Do” food drive to benefit the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The drive was held in response to recent news coverage of the critical food shortage at the Food Bank.

“We understood there was a great need and wanted to do our part to help,” said Cornerstone Community Bank President Frank Hughes. “Our employees and customers really pitched in to make this drive a success and help those in need in our community.”

Through a network of more than 360 nonprofit agencies and churches, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank distributes nearly 8.8 million pounds of food annually to more than 125,000 families in need, throughout a 20-county area in Tennessee and Georgia. In recent months, the Food Bank has experienced a critical food shortage, with donations decreasing and demand on the rise.

“We’re so very grateful to Cornerstone and for all their support through this food drive,” said Jen Ferking, special events coordinator for the Food Bank. “The food they’ve provided will go a long way toward feeding the hungry, especially as we go into the holidays and winter months.”

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
