Creative Discovery Museum Becomes 1930's Movie Studio On Nov. 1

Wednesday, October 08, 2008

Creative Discovery Museum will become CDM Studios for a night on Nov. 1.

The Clue Mystery Party is the first annual fundraiser organized by CDM's Tower Club group for young professionals and 96.5 The Mountain.

The mayhem and fun will be Saturday, Nov. 1, from 7-11:30 p.m. Cost is $40 per person. People making reservations by Oct. 15 will receive a $10 discount. Call Carla at 648-6054 to make reservations.

Like the Museum's long-time "Amuse"Um fundraiser, the evening is a party for adults that benefits kids. Proceeds from the party will support free admissions and scholarships to ensure that all children and families can benefit from the Museum's education programs and exhibits.

Organizers said, "Here's the pitch: 1930's...Chattanooga is one apple of a town, with celluloid dreams in the air until the opening of CDM Studios finds filmmaker Louie D. Flayer murdered in cold blood. The show must go on, though, and it's up to the visitors to crack the crime while the studio's actors and actresses get ready for the invasion of the talking film.

"Once the mystery's solved, there's a speakeasy with dancing by DJ Celebrations by Stutz and jolly up for studio visitors. Just be sure to dress the part, Dollface, in your best 1920s and 1930s old Hollywood glamour-inspired attire!"

Food and drink will be provided by Niko's Southside Grill, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Acropolis, The English Rose tea room, Meals by Mindy, Chick-fil-A, and more establishments to come.

The Clue Mystery Party is sponsored by First Bank, WDOD The Mountain, Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union and Heritage Funeral Home.

The Creative Discovery Museum is located at 321 Chestnut Street in downtown Chattanooga.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ... Roy Exum: What 17 Pills Did To Me

Ah, step into my parlor of first-hand wisdom because, in the School of Hard Knocks, there are priceless lessons that you should know before it becomes your turn to dance. Never in my life have I ever had any back problems but, in early December, I came down with what is called sciatica and I have been a miserable man ever since. There are two big nerves that sprout out of the ... (click for more)
