Spatial Effects, Boulware Play At Caffeine Addicts Nov. 21

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

North Georgia based bluegrass band Spatial Effects will be performing at Caffeine Addicts on Friday, Nov. 21. The group is composed of Earl Brackin (vocals, mandolin), David Crawford (vocals, guitar), Betsy Blankenship (bass and vocals), and Tom Brown (harmonica, banjo), with featured guest fiddler John Boulware.

Spatial Effects identifies itself primarily with traditional bluegrass music, but their performances often incorporate elements from many other styles of music. Spatial Effects has been referred to as a "songwriter" band as the group’s repertoire is composed primarily of original songs. With the exception of a few standards and gospel numbers, a Spatial Effects performance is characterized by originality, with contributions to the set from all of the band members.

Winner of the 2006 Tennessee State Fiddle Championship, Boulware, a UTC student, also won the fiddle competition at the annual Uncle Dave Macon Days held in Murphreesboro, Tn. four times by age 20 in 2006. After winning two consecutive years, contestants must sit out for a year, resulting in John sitting out during 2004 and 2007.
In 2008 he returned to Murphreesboro and won in two separate fiddle categories.

The performance will begin at 7 p.m. at Caffeine Addicts in downtown Ringgold at 7819 Nashville St. There is no admission and seating is limited. For further information telephone (706) 935-3355 or email spatialeffectsbluegrass@yahoo.com.

We Are Blessed To Have Ron Littlefield As Our Mayor - And Response (2)

Chattanooga is blessed beyond measure to have Ron Littlefield as our mayor.  It is a total travesty our city has had to endure the long frivolous battle with absolutely  no foundation other than disagreement with policy issues.  It has always been a vendetta directed personally at Mayor Littlefield which, if the "interveners" decide to appeal, will be a proven fact.   ...
