Carl Silas Maroon, 82, died on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, in a local health care facility.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dayton, Tn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Pearl Maroon; and brothers, Ralph Maroon and Edgar Maroon.

Survivors are his brother, Russell Maroon, Chattanooga; sisters, Margaret Petty, Chattanooga, Louise Petty, Ringgold, and Willie Mae Willoughby, Phoenix, Az; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Ken Roberts officiating.
