Jessica Jones Helping Lead Walters State To Undefeated Season

Former Brainerd High star Jessica Jones recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds as the #10 Walters State Lady Senators ran their record to 11-0 on the season with a 63-51 victory. Walters State beat the Neosho County (Kan.) Lady Panthers in the Georgia Perimeter Thanksgiving Classic Friday afternoon.

Jones is a freshman.

Another freshman, LaKrystle Goss (Knoxville,) had another stellar performance for the Lady Senators with 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists, four blocks and three steals.

Sophomore Rhon’Neisha Taylor (Nashville) added 14 points and five boards.

Walters State made 22-of-54 shots from the field for a 40.7 percent clip, and they turned 27 Neosho turnovers into 24 points. The Lady Senators also won the rebounding battle, 40-30.

Ashley Milian paced the Lady Panthers (2-5) with 20 points, and Fila Smith added 15 points in the loss.

Walters State will return to action Saturday afternoon when they take on Shelton State of Alabama. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m.

An Anhydrous Ammonia leak at BASF Corporation on Amnicola Highway is causing major traffic issues this morning. Woman Shot Up To 8 Times In East Chattanooga Murder

Chattanooga Police pfficers responded Monday night to 1907 Daisy St. in East Chattanooga on a report of a woman who had been shot.  When they arrived around 9 p.m., they found a female inside the business who had been shot 4-6 times. Thank You, Judge Mattice And Chattanooga

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
