Conservatives, take heart.
Today is a day for optimism. Yesterday, we lost, but today is a new opportunity. Keep your head up. Resist the urge to whine, mope, or gripe. Suppress the temptation to succumb to thoughts of depression (you are only wasting time and energy).
We have a war to fight. It is a war of ideas. Yesterday we lost a battle, not the war. True conservatism is still armed with superior ideas, and a rising, new generation of true conservative leaders.
To allow our defeat to cause us to cower away from the future battles that are about to be waged, is the equivalent of forfeiting an entire season because we lost one game.
Now is the time to regroup, refocus, and recommit to the fundamental principles that make conservatism work. Many of these principles have either been abandoned or incompetently communicated to the American people, and it is our duty as true conservatives to correct the mistakes
of the past by accurately presenting these fundamental ideals in the future.
The sanctity of life, the defense of marriage, lower taxes, limited government, and a strong military are too important to our country's long term success for us to give up now.
Look deep within yourself, find the confidence needed to re-engage, and press-on to take our country back.

Fight? Wage battle? War? Mr. Cook, what exactly are you talking about? The American people need to stop fighting with each other, stop trying to best each other, and for once, come together as a nation, and stay that way.
I personally voted for McCain, but I'm not ready to condemn Obama and all who voted for him simply because McCain lost. I would like to give the man a chance, just as we gave Bush two chances, to run this country and see what he can do with it.
It took a tragic terrorist attack to bring this country together once. I really hate to think that the only time we can come together as a country is during such a tragedy.
It's time to stop screaming at each other as loud as we can because we believe our own opinions are the right ones, and the best ones. It's time to listen to each other and move forward as one nation. It's called the UNITED States of America for a reason. Shouldn't we start to act like it?

Conservatives, don’t take heart, take stock. Take a good look at yourselves. Your once Grand Ole Party has gone to seed. Most people don’t like your views. You’re too heavy handed and too self-righteous.
Your arguments for No-Choice pregnancies for all women, higher national debt, higher budget deficits, unregulated markets and trickle-down economics, and use of military force as a first option all stink. Your assaults on constitutional rights have us all fearing for our freedoms. You’ve brought our great country to its collective knees with your misguided wrongheadedness.
As of Nov. 4th 2008, we, the people, have taken back our White House, taken back our halls of Congress, taken back our flag and handed you your head. Now, take stock.
The American people have spoken on abortion. Get over it. Your fiscal policies have brought us to ruin. Your military policies have broke the bank and killed and maimed thousands of our soldiers as well as innocents. Your political policies have created enemies and estranged allies.
Don’t take heart by any means. Take stock. Start by stopping. Start by stopping some of the things you do. Stop trying to imagine yourselves as the Party of God. Stop thinking you've got a lock on Patriotism. Stop imagining you're the only Party that supports our troops. Stop imagining you're the party of the family. And stop hating everyone that dares to differ with you.
Then, start again. Start being inclusive. Start respecting the Constitution. Start being more tolerant. Start being more merciful. Start caring about the environment. Start listening to the other side.

Mr. Saluk,
I agree with your statement that we should be more merciful. You might take that into consideration when referring to an unborn child as a No-choice pregnancy. One can understand in the case of rape and incest the temptation to terminate a pregnancy. Unfortunately, the 45 million children who have been killed were, for the most part, a result of Choice Pregnancy: the choice to engage in sex with a willing partner with predictable, inconvenient results.
The American people, unfortunately, did not get the opportunity to vote on abortion. That’s how we speak in this country and it’s a right that has been denied us. Our newly elected President voted, however. He voted present (against) a bill that would allow treatment of aborted fetuses who, against all odds, survived. They are currently put in a closet to die. Merciful indeed.
