Read With Me Christmas Program For T.C. Thompson Patients Is Monday

WSMC Classical 90.5, Chattanooga’s classical music radio station, will be hosting will be hosting a holiday version of its “Read With Me” program for patients from T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital on Monday.

A Southern Adventist University tour bus escorted by Collegedale police will bring the children, their parents, and their siblings to WSMC, where they will begin the festivities with a lunch catered by the Acropolis Grill.

The Read With Me program, which will be aired live on WSMC and via webstreaming, will begin at 1 p.

m. at Southern’s television studio in Brock Hall. Hamilton County Mayor Claude Ramsey, City of Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield, Sen. Bo Watson, and a host of Collegedale officials will also be in attendance as Erlanger Hospital’s CEO, Jim Brexler reads My Penguin Osbert to the children. Following the reading, The Marzians from Marzipan Studios Reader's Theatre will perform a heartwarming Christmas Eve adventure, Cozoo and the Goblin. Later in the program, Santa will visit to distribute gift bags containing presents from Barnes & Noble, McKee Foods, McDonalds, and others.

Judge Hollingsworth Rules Littlefield Recall Effort Invalid, Cancels August Mayoral Election

Circuit Court Judge Jeff Hollingsworth on Friday afternoon ruled that the effort to recall Mayor Ron Littlefield was invalid and he canceled a planned special mayoral election in August to replace him.
