This week Crime Stoppers and Chattanooga Police are asking for help in identifying a suspect who has committed identity theft and passed several bogus checks in the Chattanooga and Cleveland area.
On Oct. 25, one of the victims received a collections letter stemming from the cashing of a personal check at America Cash Mart on North Point Boulevard on June 8, 2005. The victim was unaware that any checks had been written to this business. The check was determined to be counterfeit and appeared to be written on a SunTrust Bank account of Traci Holder. The victim’s maiden name was Holder and the first name spelling was not correct.
The suspect used a false Tennessee driver’s license number and used the victim’s valid Social Security number. The suspect also supplied a fabricated copy of a SunTrust Bank account statement and a fabricated paycheck stub from Lane Steel Fabricators at 4311 7th Ave.
The suspect also cashed a check in Cleveland using a fraudulent Tennessee driver’s license with the name of Rachelle Diane Wilson.
After talking with police, the victim found out she had a warrant for her arrest in Cleveland as a result of some of these checks.
Investigators believe there are other fraudulent cases out there that have not been discovered by the pending victims.
The victims have been cleared of any crimes or wrongdoing in this case. However, the suspect is still at large. On one of the false driver’s licenses she is a white female, 5’5" with blue eyes.
