Lt. Colonel Russell will be guest speaker at The National Medal of Honor Museum of Military History's annual Fund Raiser and Awards Banquet set for Friday, March 7, at 6 p.m., in the Roosevelt Room of the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
The unit LTC Russell commanded was a central player in the hunt and capture of Saddam Hussein. LTC Russell has deployed operationally to Kosovo, Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, LTC Russell commanded the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry 'Regulars' and conducted combat in Tikrit, Iraq.
In addition to LTC Russell’s presentation, banquet festivities will include a small awards ceremony and several door prizes including gift certificates donated by local merchants.
The Museum’s Northgate exhibit has grown and artifact stabilization is underway at the Archival Center in East Chattanooga.
