A teacher was hit in the face while trying to break up a fight between two female students at Howard High School on Wednesday, sheriff's department officials said.
The teacher attempted to intervene and in the process suffered a nose injury and a facial scratch, it was stated.
Attachments will be filed through the Hamilton County Juvenile Court on both students for disorderly conduct and simple assault.
The students are in the ninth grade.
The teacher reportedly is a female in her first year of teaching.
