I still cannot believe the Chattanooga Market is closing. I've been a vendor at the market for several years and I will surely miss the coming market season.
I know how much work was involved for Nick and Elizabeth and I understand why they must discontinue their effort. What I don't understand is, where are the folks ready to step in and keep our market going?
The market was a good thing for our city. During the spring I would talk to countless visitors to our fair city eager to spend their dollars on a souvenir to take home. What a great way for locals to spend a Sunday afternoon. Many a Christmas present was bought during the holiday market in December.
I'd really like to see the powers-that-be put their heads together and find a way to keep the market in place. I think many others feel the same way. I made many friends, both vendors and customers, during my time at the market. I will miss our conversations most of all.
My husband suggested I sell on the Internet. I told him it was a good idea, but conversation with the computer lacks that certain something.
