Mitchell Ends Howard's Season With 87-61 Semifinal Victory

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Trip No. 20 ended just like all the other ones for Howard's Hustlin' Tigers.

Memphis Mitchell defeated Howard, 87-61, in a Class AA semifinal Saturday at Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.

It was Howard's 20th appearance in the state tournament, and the Tigers have never brought a title home to Chattanooga.

Mitchell (25-8) will play Fulton (27-4) for the state title on Saturday at 6 p.m. eastern.

Howard ended its season at 31-3.

Hitchell took a 37-29 halftime lead, and then outscored Howard, 38-17, in the third quarter.

Brandon Allen led Howard witrh 13 points while Dominique Taylor had 12 points and seven rebounds.

Darius Ricks contributed 11 for the Tigers and Dominique Harper scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Man Tells Police He Just Murdered His Wife

Ammonia Leak At BASF On Amnicola Highway Causes Major Traffic Backups

I would like to thank Judge Mattice for handing down a 30.5 year sentence for Kathleen Mathews.  Obviously, no amount of jail time, fines, or lashings can bring back Tim Chapin.   A 30-year sentence will, however, make the world just a little safer.  That's what Sgt.
