National Print Group, Inc. has completed the move of its silk screen division, located in Kennesaw, Ga. to Chattanooga. As part of this facilities consolidation, numerous silk screen employees have relocated to Chattanooga and will continue to be part of the National Print Group team.
The consolidation process began with the purchase of a 120,000 square foot building at 1601 Holtzclaw Ave. This building was originally purchased to accommodate the company’s growing digital operations.
Upon making the decision to consolidate the Kennesaw silk screen operations into this plant, management approved a building expansion project to house the screen operation. As a result, National Print Group, Inc. completed a 35,000 square foot expansion, increasing the size of the facility to approximately 155,000 square foot.
“Because of this move, National Print Group, Inc. is able to reduce production costs, shorten communication timelines between our facilities and create significant production synergies between its screen and digital operations,” said Phil Harris, president of National Print Group, Inc.
In addition to saving customers time and money, the consolidation increases the work-flow efficiency at National Print Group, Inc. which will result in better customer service and shorten lead times, officials said. Of the more than 400 company employees, 100 of them will be working in the Holtzclaw facility. Many employees from the Kennesaw plant are thrilled to be relocating to the Chattanooga area, officials said.
