I echo the sentiments so eloquently stated by Roy Exum concerning Lloyd Ray Smith.
"Smithy" had a heart as big as the outdoors and a soul absolutely chock full of concern for Special Olympians everywhere...they were all 'his kids'.
The world would be a much better place if each of us had one tenth the caring and compassion he did.
He led the Special Olympians from the back rooms into the forefront of sports, and he did so by example.
He also inspired many others to join the world of special education.
He's earned his angel wings...and a very, very special place in heaven.
Many of us shared many tears with Lloyd Ray over the decades. Today...we all cry alone.
