The Third Annual Log Cabin Days Fine Arts and Crafts Festival, sponsored by Artist Hands of Sequatchie Territory, will be held Saturday and Sunday, May 17-18.
The festival will be two miles north of Pikeville on U. S. Highway 127 at McBay’s Log Cabin Village on Saturday, May 17, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST and Sunday, May 18, from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST.
Admission and parking will be free. The food and family fun will be held in Sequatchie Valley in and around restored log cabins. Activities include: Third U.S. Artillery Civil War Living History encampment with live cannon; Bitter Creek Rangers from Crossville, with cowboy shootouts and music; musical performances and bands; antique tractor display; quilt display; heritage living skills: Native American crafts; Tennessee Methamphetamine Task Force educational tractor; master gardeners; Abraham Lincoln portrayal; children’s train rides; children's activities and projects tent; Tanner/Wilderness encampment; log cabin period costume contest; blacksmith; story-telling; town crier, among others.
All arts and crafts are handmade with live demos by artists. including huckweaving; leather tooling; herbs; basket weaving; wool spinning; antique toys, woodcraft and carving; candles; jewelry; gourd art; soap making; flute-maker; wooden trunks; photography; fabric / felt art; oils; purses; dolls; birdhouses; scroll saw art; barn wood / cedar furniture; silhouettes; tole painting; mosaics; mailboxes / arbors / swings, and much more.
