A Moss Drive man said he was beaten at his home by five individuals he didn't know, and he believes they mistook him for someone else.
Curtis Rohen said he was home when a black male and two white males knocked on the door. He said he did not recognize any of them.
But he said he opened the door and let them in to see what they wanted.
He said they asked him "where was their sister?"
Mr. Rohen said the black male then punched him in the mouth. He said all three began punching and kicking him.
Then he said two others came in the house and joined in the attack.
They finally left on foot going toward Byrd Avenue.
The beating victim was taken by ambulance to Erlanger Hospital.

Police said a trio caught shoplifting at Hamilton Place Mall were found with stolen merchandise from a host of stores.
Michael Cox, a loss prevention officer at Belk for Women, said he saw Zachary and Amber King and Ms. King's younger brother take a ladies' handbag and remove the security tag. Then they tried to walk out with him.
He said it was found they also had with them items from Aeropostale, Spencers, Board Riders, Dillards, American Eagle and Hollister's.
Then, other stolen items were found in King's vehicle, it was stated.
Also found in the King vehicle was a loaded, semi-automatic weapon. King had no permit for the gun, police said.
Police said Belk for Women and Board Riders were the only merchants willing to prosecute.
The Kings were charged with theft over $500. The younger brother was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Brendan Buechel of Shawnee Trail came home to find the glass broken out of the front door.
Items taken included two laptop computers and a digital camera.

Brenda Cudd of Mabel Street said she was the victim of road rage.
She said an unidentified driver became irate and threw a breakfast sandwich that hit her vehicle.
Police said they located Christopher Atkinson and he confessed.
He said Ms. Cudd had cut him off and antagonized him and he became upset.
Officers told him to "utilize more mature judgment" next time.
