Why Commissioner Beck Should Be Elected Sheriff

Monday, May 12, 2008

It is not surprising that the chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party would write an article favorable to the former-Democrat, now turned Republican candidate for sheriff, Jim Hammond.

The Democratic candidate, Comm. Beck, is well-respected and well-known to the people of Hamilton County. He has lengthy experience in law enforcement, including many years wearing the uniform - the only candidate for sheriff who can make that claim. He was also "Officer of the Year."

Mr.

Beck has considerable executive experience, including balancing large budgets and making tough decisions required in the Hamilton County Commission. Anyone who looks at Comm. Beck closely knows that he is a leader and the person we need to restore trust in the sheriff's department. He will incur the respect of those who work in the department and will ensure safe communities throughout Hamilton County. As sheriff, Comm. Beck will provide a thoughtful and steady approach in his leadership of the department. He will be accountable and operate with complete transparency.

Comm. Beck is a man of high morals, consistency, and exceptional qualifications. He has the dignity we need to restore public confidence in the office of sheriff, and the wise people of Hamilton County can see through flip-flop politics of Jim Hammond and will vote for Greg Beck on Aug. 7.
