KNOXVILLE -- Tennessee head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh reported Tuesday that Vols offensive lineman Anthony Parker underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee earlier in the day. Dr. Greg Mathien and Russell Betcher of Knoxville Orthopedic Clinic performed the operation.
McVeigh expects Parker to make a full recovery in time for Tennessee’s offseason conditioning program that begins in June.
The Jonesboro, Ga., native was a consensus All-SEC selection last year at guard, guiding Tennessee’s record-setting unit to a nation’s-best four sacks in 534 team pass attempts. He then displayed his versatility during recent spring drills by competing almost entirely at the center position in place of injured Josh McNeil.
