Defending DII state softball champion GPS crept closer to defending its title on Tuesday.
The Bruisers (26-4-1) rolled past Battle Ground Academy, 9-0 and 13-4, in a double-header at GPS.
By winning the best-of-three series, GPS earned a berth in next week's BlueCross Spring Fling in Murfreesboro.
Three more teams will earn berths this week for the final-four field.
Baylor will play at Briarcrest later in the week in a best-of-three series.
Two games are scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m. eastern on Thursday, with the if-necessary game scheduled for Friday at 4 eastern.
In game one Tuesday, Jessica Phillips, Jackie Baird and Tory Lewis each had two hits for GPS. Phillips and Baird had one RBI each.
Kamri Chester hit a home run and drove in three runs and Maddie Smith added two RBI.
Megan Wagner imrpoved to 24-3, giving up two hits and striking out nine.
In game two, Whitney Hammond was 3-for-5 with an RBI and triple.
Phillips was 2-for-2 with an RBI while Chester was 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI.
Smith, Amy Campbell, Baird and Megan Givens hit doubles for the Bruisers. Smith, Baird and Campbell had two RBI apiece.
Lea Capehart was the winning pitcher.
