Business Tennessee Magazine Names State's Top 25 “Best Employers”

Wednesday, May 07, 2008

Business Tennessee magazine’s May 2008 issue, on newsstands and online now, identifies and ranks the Top 25 “Best Employers” to work for in the state of Tennessee, and 11 of these are companies with a strong presence in East Tennessee.

Each year, the Best Companies Group examines Tennessee businesses and evaluates them to determine which ones stand out as the best employers. The winners are picked based on factors such as salaries, personal benefits, tenure of CEOs and much more.

“These 25 companies cover a broad spectrum of the business world—but the one common characteristic that they all possess is the outstanding way they treat their employees,” said Chris Stovall, publisher of Business Tennessee magazine. “A company that strives for a positive work environment deserves to be recognized; in addition to the real difference it makes to their bottom-lines and to the retention of their best employees.”

The East Tennessee companies to make the 2008 “Best Employers” in Tennessee list as named by Business Tennessee magazine are (in alphabetical order): Access America Transport; Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell, & Berkowitz PC; Blackburn, Childers & Steagall PLC; Crowe Chizek & Co.; Edward Jones; FirstBank; Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corp.; Kramer Rayson LLP; Memorial Health Care System; Mid-America Apartment Communities; Oak Ridge Associated Universities; Pinnacle Financial Partners; State of Franklin Savings Bank; Unum; and Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance Inc.

Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
