Gerald Burrell, 67, died on Monday, June 16, 2008.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hazel Wooten Burrell; brother, Harold Burrell Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Boatman Burrell, LaFayette; son and wife, Brent and Patricia Burrell, LaFayette; sisters and their husbands, Sylvia and Robert Waters, LaFayette, Joyce and James Bradley, Adairsville, Barbara Burrell Patterson, Trenton, Peggy Davis, Swananoa, N.C.; brother, Danny Burrell, LaFayette; his other mom, Mrs. Addie Boatman, LaFayette; sister-in-law, Alice Tudor, LaFayette; grandchildren, Breanna Burrell, Chris Brown, Nicole Brown, Jake Brown, Shanea Jones; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday at LaFayette First Baptist Church Service conducted by the Rev. Benny Castleberry. Interment will be in LaFayette Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeff Sholtz, Mike Sholtz, Dewey Mann, Glenn Mann, James Bradley, Bruce Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Brown, Bugg Bartlett, Perry Reece, Glenn Ramey, Mack Waters, Lebron Clark and Mike Richardson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Mark Phillips Was Victim In Fatal Hixson Pike Wreck

Mark Phillips, 54, was the victim in a fatal Hixson Pike wreck on Saturday afternoon. Police said the driver of the Ford F150 that went out of control and struck the Phillips vehicle was 68-year-old Warren Elliott.
