In May, the city of Red Bank continued a wonderful tradition.
The Red Bank Jubilee is the time of year that the residents of Red Bank come together and enjoy the day. The day starts off with the parade that starts in South Red Bank and continues its path down Dayton Boulevard. Dixie Youth, G.I.R.L.S fastpitch, some Ladies Church Leagues teams have participated as well as several youth groups from the variety of churches around Red Bank. The Marching Lions Band from Red Bank High School highsteps it through the parade route. Some high ranking people make an appearance as well. Zach Wamp, Channel 3-9-12 personalities, radio personalities and city fathers of the city of Red Bank have been in seen in the parade. One year, Gov. Lamar Alexander came to the Red Bank Jubilee Parade.
The artist and crafts people show off their talents in many of the tents that surround the festivals. Crafts from paintings, quilts, stained glass, wood carved art pieces and many other great items are for sale.
The food smell wafts through the air. The smell of grilled hot dogs and hamburgers fills the air. One cannot fight the urge to sink their teeth into all the wonderful food and treats. The Red Bank Lions Club was always known for their homemade ice cream. The Red Bank High School Marching Lions Band was always known for the great grilled hot dogs and burgers.
The car collecters enjoyed the day as well. The Car Show dots both sides of Dayton Boulevard - cars from the 50s til the hot rods of today. It is fun to walk around and witness what these artists have done. I am amazed what it takes to go into restoring these old beauties back to life.
Thanks to the men and women who are behind the scenes to make the Red Bank Jubilee a great success every year. Monte Millard and his staff do a great job. Thanks for all the hard work.

I as a business owner in Red Bank have never understood the Jubilee. You shut down the only major thoroughfare in Red Bank. This kills business on Friday night and just about the entire day on Saturday. Dayton Boulevard is too busy a road to be shut down that long. Why not have it at the high school or another of the many parking lots around Red Bank.
I get sick of losing money every time Red Bank wants to close the only road running through town.
