Authorities announced Wednesday morning that a man who carried out a string of local holdups while wearing a Spiderman mask has finally been caught.
The "Spiderman Robber" has been identified as Jon Giles Woodburn, 45, of East Ridge.
A joint investigation of the TBI, the U.S. Marshal's Office, the East Ridge Police Department and the Chattanooga Police Department Property Crimes Division led to the arrest.
Woodburn was initially charged with three of the “Spiderman” robberies.
He currently faces three counts of aggravated robbery in connection with the robbery of two convenience stores and one hotel.
According to investigators, Agent Mark Delaney with the TBI received information on the identity of Woodburn. Detective Josh Creel of the East Ridge Police Department located the suspect's vehicle, which led to investigators going to his residence and conducting an onsite investigation.
After investigators interviewed Woodburn, he was arrested and is currently in the Hamilton County Jail.
At this time the other robberies are still under investigation and more charges are expected.
