LOUDON, Tenn. -- It wasn't a good day for the Chattanooga-area players in the 2008 TGA State Match Play Championships here Friday.
In the Seniors Championship, Chattanooga's Ronnie Law defeated Cleveland's Chuck Jabaley in 19 holes in a quarterfinal.
Law then lost in a semifinal to Kingsport's Tony Green, 3 and 2.
Green will face Jim Brown from Loudon in Saturday's final.
In the State Match Play event, Chattanooga's Thomas Smith defeated Greenbriar's Justin Walker, 4 and 3, in the opening round.
In a quarterfinal, Smith lost to Peter Malnati from Dandridge, 2 and 1.
Malnati defeated Hixson's Josh Lawson, 5 and 4, in the opening round.
Soddy-Daisy's Derek Rende lost to John Fox from Cookeville, 3 and 2, in the opening round.
In the State Match Play semifinals on Saturday, Malnati will face Germantown's Tim Jackson, and Fox will play Cordova's Ian Rochester.
