John Hiatt Concert Will Be Sept. 19

The new date for the concert by John Hiatt and the Ageless Beauties is Friday, Sept. 19, promoter George Parker said.

The concert was originally scheduled at Memorial Auditorium on Thursday, July 10.

Tickets go on sale again this Friday.

Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.chattanoogaonstage.com or by phone 423-642-TIXS or at the Memorial Auditorium box office.

Mr. Parker said, "I apologize to those who bought tickets for the originally scheduled date - or made plans for that date.

The good news - the new date is a Friday and the day after John Hiatt receives his lifetime achievement award from the American Music Association."

Prosecutors Asking Maximum Sentence For "Evil" Mother Of Jesse Mathews

Prosecutors are asking that the mother of the man charged with killing Chattanooga Police Sgt. Tim Chapin be given the maximum possible sentence, calling Kathleen Mathews an evil manipulator who encouraged Jesse Mathews' criminal endeavors. Pickup Truck Crosses To Wrong Side Of Hixson Pike: Other Driver Killed

A pickup truck went across Hixson Pike into the opposing lane of traffic on Saturday afternoon, then struck another vehicle. The driver of that car was killed.
