This week Crime Stoppers needs help in identifying a masked burglar who entered three businesses on Highway 58.
On April 24, Chattanooga Police responded to 4508 Highway 58 at the Tobacco Mart on a burglar alarm. Upon their arrival the officers found the rear door of the business open. The officers checked the building and learned the suspect pried open the business Ovations' rear door and gained entry into the business. Once inside, he broke through three plaster walls and made entry into the Pizza Hut.
The suspect damaged a cash register in an attempt to get money, but couldn’t. He then broke through the wall into the next business, Tobacco Mart.
Surveillance video shows the suspect using a pry bar to gain entry to the first cash register. He gets the money and puts it into his pocket, then moves to the second cash register. The total loss from Tobacco Mart was $8,000.
The suspect is wearing a light-colored jacket with a dark collar, dark pants, white shoes, gloves and a light-colored full ski mask.
