Mayor Littlefield Isn't Controlled By Lookout Mountain Elitist

Tuesday, July 08, 2008

I read with interest Julie S. Hailey of Lookout Mountain letter to the editor of the Chattanooga Times Free Press in which she referred to Mayor Littlefield as “our mayor” while imploring “every registered voter in Hamilton County” to read a recent negative editorial regarding Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield. Although Mayor Littlefield is not the mayor of her city, but the mayor of the city of Chattanooga, I can understand her making that mistake.

Until our current mayor was elected, Lookout Mountain controlled the election of the city of Chattanooga mayors.

If you doubt that assertion, review the contribution lists of past mayors.

I suspect the real problem Ms. Hailey has is that Ron Littlefield is not controlled by the Lookout Mountain elitist.

Notre Dame is moving on.   The Irish advanced Monday night when steady Steadman Ford drove a stake in the Chargers’ heart, draining a game-winning 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left as No. 4 seed Notre Dame defeated fifth-seed Chattanooga Christian, 41-38, in District 7-AA tournament action in Phifer Gymnasium.   It was a thriller.   Notre Dame (10-14) ...
