Tuesday, August 19, 2008

An air pollution Code Orange Health Watch has been declared for ozone on Tuesday.

The Air Quality Index is predicted to be 101, which is unhealthy for sensitive groups. This can have health effects for up to 50% of the population, officials said.

Active children and adults, and people with lung disease, such as asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.

Tuesday is forecast to be a CODE ORANGE day (101-150 on AQI index). Levels of pollution are forecast to be Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. People at risk include:

Postpone using gasoline-powered lawn equipment
Keep your engines properly tuned
Keep tires properly inflated
Refuel after 6 p.m.

You can reduce your exposure to pollution by:

Chapin would have wanted.  He was a protector and sacrificed his life so the rest of ... (click for more)
