The Chattanooga Downtown Partnership continues the 2008 Nightfall Concert Series Friday with a performance on the BlueCross Stage at Miller Plaza by blues artist Robben Ford.
Review for Robben Ford:
Robben Ford is one of the premiere electric guitarists today, particularly known for his blues playing as well as his ability to be comfortable in a variety of musical contexts. A four-time Grammy nominee, he has played with artists as diverse as Joni Mitchell, Miles Davis, Bonnie Raitt and George Harrison.
Ford's most recent release album, "Truth," was released in 2007. On it, Ford mixes jazz, R&B, and pop with more traditional blues elements, creating a smooth, agreeable blend that still features plenty of his guitar wizardry. The set list is comprised of both originals and covers, and there are instances of pure blues grooves.
Local opening act Nu Mac Blues Bandwill take the stage at 7 p.m., followed by Robben Ford at 8 p.m.
