Police Blotter: Man Burglarized, Hit In Head By Blonde

Sunday, August 24, 2008

A Pine Ridge Road man told police he was burglarized, then the next day a blonde woman asked to use his phone and wound up hitting him in the head with a piece of wood.

Paul Leeper said he came home and found the door to the kitchen had been forced open. Apparently, the burglar initially got in through the garage door.

Items taken included a computer, monitor, printer and cable modem.

The next day, Mr. Leeper said he was playing cards with a guest, Marie Carringer, when the blonde woman asked to use the phone. The woman said her vehicle was broken down.

He directed her to the kitchen, then resumed the card game in another room.

He looked up to see the woman coming after him with a piece of wood. He said he asked her, "You're kidding, aren't you?"

The woman replied, "No, I'm robbing you. Now empty your pockets."

Mr. Leeper said he refused, and the woman began hitting him in the head.

He said he began struggling with her, and he took her to the floor. They became locked on the floor, then "agreed they would let one another go."

He said the blonde ran out without getting anything from him.

Police said he had lacerations to his head and marks on his left forearm where he had tried to ward off the blows from the stick.

Mrs. Carringer said she knew the woman as "Angel."
